Architecture Photography
My goal in photographing architecture is to make aesthetically pleasing and accurate representations of the building. For building exteriors, I study the available light to determine the best time of day (or night) to photograph the building. The landscape surrounding the building is important to the overall composition and communicates the harmony of a building with its environment.
For building interiors, my goal is to use both available light along with the artificial light from the room and my strobes. A great deal can be done in post-production processing to balance the light, and insure a room is accurately represented.
In all cases I look for leading lines, interesting patterns of light, and try to communicate the aesthetics of the architect in my photos.
